10.0.0.1 Login Admin

By Routers Network team Checked

10.0.0.1

Login Admin Portal

Default login: admin, with the password from the Xfinity app or the gateway label

App: Xfinity app, Rogers Xfinity app

Works only while your phone or laptop is on this router's Wi-Fi or cable. On a phone, turn mobile data off first. If nothing opens, your router uses another address. The page that opens is your router's own; Routers Network never sees what you type there.

Key points

  • 10.0.0.1 is the admin address of Xfinity gateways in the US and Rogers Xfinity gateways in Canada, and both use the username admin.
  • On an Xfinity XB6, XB7, XB8 or XB10 the Admin Tool stays closed until you allow it in the Xfinity app; the password is the one you make there.
  • Allowed access before February 2026? The sticker password may still work. XB2, XB3 and Rogers gateways use the code on the label.
  • Join your home Wi-Fi, not the xfinitywifi hotspot, and switch mobile data off before you type the address.
  • We found no ISP page in Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Nigeria, India or Indonesia that uses 10.0.0.1; read your phone's gateway line for your real address.

  11. 10.0.0.1 login not working

Your 10.0.0.1 login leads to the settings page of Xfinity gateways in the US and Rogers Xfinity gateways in Canada. Sign in with the username admin. On an Xfinity XB6, XB7, XB8 or XB10, switch on Admin Tool access in the Xfinity app first and use the password you make there. XB2, XB3 and Rogers units take the code on the bottom label. Typed 10.0.0.0.1? Drop one zero.

If your router uses 10.0.0.1, the button above opens its login page. If nothing loads, your router uses a different address; see how to read your router’s real address.

The sign-in form at http://10.0.0.1 asks for a username and password before the gateway settings open.

No sticker in reach? The Devices page of your Xfinity account and the Xfinity app show the model too.

Why is my default gateway 10.0.0.1?

Your phone lists 10.0.0.1 as the gateway when the box handing out addresses keeps that number for itself. Xfinity and Rogers gateways ship that way. A router, mesh kit, office or hotel network can also be put on the 10.x range by whoever installed it.

We found no ISP page in Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, Nigeria, India or Indonesia that sets 10.0.0.1 as the default. Check what your own device reports first:

  • Phone: open Wi-Fi settings, tap the network you are on and read the Router or Gateway line.
  • Windows: run ipconfig in Command Prompt and read Default Gateway.

Type whatever number shows there. The router login hub for every address picks up from that number.

10.0.0.1 admin login on Xfinity

Xfinity Gateway Login page with username admin
Xfinity Gateway > Login page: the username is admin and the password field opens the gateway settings.
  1. In the Xfinity app, go to the WiFi tab, tap View WiFi equipment and open Advanced settings.
  2. Tap Admin Tool online access, slide the toggle to allow it and tap Save.
  3. Enabling it for the first time? The app moves to a new password screen. Type a password, save it and keep a copy.
  4. Connect the phone to your home Wi-Fi, or plug a laptop in by cable. The public xfinitywifi hotspot is not your home network. Switch mobile data off.
  5. In the browser’s address bar, not the search box, type http://10.0.0.1.
  6. Enter admin as the username and the password from step 3.

The toggle is offered on the XB6, XB7, XB8 and XB10. The Wireless Gateway 1, Wireless Gateway 2 and XB3 lack it, and Xfinity asks owners of those older units to contact it about an update.

Reset Xfinity router admin password when locked out

Xfinity publishes no help page for a forgotten Admin Tool password. In two community forum threads, Xfinity staff gave the same answer: a factory reset puts the login back to admin with the password printed on the bottom label.

Change Wi-Fi password, port forwarding and pause settings

Many settings that older guides place at 10.0.0.1 now live in the app:

TaskWhere to do itSource
Wi-Fi name or key, XfinityXB2 or XB3: 10.0.0.1, Gateway > Connection > Wi-Fi, Edit under Private Wi-Fi Network, then Save Settings. XB6 or newer, or any home with Xfinity WiFi Extenders: the Xfinity app onlyXfinity Wi-Fi change

Port forwarding, XfinityXfinity app, WiFi > View WiFi equipment > Advanced Settings > Port forwarding > Add Port ForwardXfinity port forwarding
Port forwarding, RogersRogers Xfinity app, same pathRogers port forwarding
Pause a device, XfinityXfinity app Parental Controls: Pause, Downtime, Active Time LimitsXfinity parental controls

Port forwarding only lists devices on IPv4 that get their address by DHCP, so a device with a static IP or on IPv6 may be missing. A phone that uses a private Wi-Fi address can break its rule; Xfinity says to delete the rule and add it again.

Rogers warns on its pause help that a paused device can still go online with cellular data or another Wi-Fi network.

The Wi-Fi key that phones type to join and the Admin Tool password are separate; changing one leaves the other as it was. Other makers’ routers are covered in Wi-Fi password steps for any router.

Xfinity gateway Bridge Mode at 10.0.0.1

Bridge Mode stops the gateway acting as a router so your own router can take over, while its modem part keeps running. Xfinity’s Bridge Mode article gives the steps:

  1. Sign in at http://10.0.0.1 as above.
  2. Open Gateway > At a Glance.
  3. Select Enable next to Bridge Mode and confirm the warning. The gateway may restart.
Xfinity Gateway At a Glance page with the Bridge Mode switch set to Enable
Gateway > At a Glance on an Xfinity gateway, with the Bridge Mode switch and Wi-Fi shown as off.

Before you enable it, know the limits:

  • The gateway’s private Wi-Fi network goes off.
  • Only one device connects to the gateway, through an Ethernet port.
  • It cannot be switched on while Xfinity WiFi Extenders are active.
  • To switch it off again with Disable, the device you use must be on an Ethernet cable.

10.0.0.1 login on Rogers gateways

Rogers uses the same address on its Gen 1 (XB6), Gen 2 (XB7) and Gen 3 (XB8) gateways, but its help page names only the secure form, https://10.0.0.1. Join your home Wi-Fi, switch mobile data off, type that in the address bar and sign in with admin and the unique code on the bottom of the gateway. On the first sign-in Rogers asks you to create a new admin password. To change it later, go to Troubleshooting > Change Password and save.

Expect a browser security warning first; on this gateway it is normal.

On Firefox, choose Advanced, then Accept the Risk and Continue. The Rogers Xfinity app accepts both MyRogers and MyRogers (Shaw) usernames.

Restart or reset an Xfinity or Rogers gateway

A restart keeps every setting. A factory reset does not.

  • Xfinity restart: in the app, tap the WiFi icon, then Troubleshoot, then Restart your Gateway. Allow up to 12 minutes; the home network is down meanwhile. If that fails, Xfinity’s gateway restart article says to unplug the power for one minute.
  • Rogers restart: unplug the gateway for 30 seconds, then plug it in.

For Rogers, pick the lightest reset that solves the problem:

Choice or modelWhat to doWhat is lost
Restore WiFi SettingsTroubleshooting > Reset/Restore Gateway on the admin pageOnly the Wi-Fi settings
Restore Factory SettingsSame menuEverything; set the gateway up again in the Rogers Xfinity app
Gen 1 buttonHold Reset until the light turns green againEverything
Gen 2 and Gen 3 buttonHold WPS for at least 30 seconds, then let goEverything
Gen 4 buttonHold Reset 15 to 30 seconds, let go when the light flashes greenEverything

The rows come from Rogers’s restart and reset help; the app set-up step is on its gateway page. For routers from other makers, see factory reset steps for other routers.

10.0.0.1 Piso WiFi and PLDT

Piso WiFi is the coin-fed Wi-Fi vendo found across the Philippines. Its portal, timer, pause button and admin dashboard belong to the operator who set up the machine. AdoPiSoft is one vendo system: its product site publishes no portal address or admin login. No LPB vendo page with a login turned up either.

If paid time seems to vanish when your phone reconnects, ask the operator first. Android 10 and later, and iPhones, join each network with a private Wi-Fi address by default, and no vendo maker says whether time is tied to it. On an iPhone with iOS 18 or later, open Settings > Wi-Fi, tap the More Info button beside the network, then Private Wi-Fi Address. Choose Off, Fixed or Rotating; Rotating changes every two weeks, per Apple’s private address page.

No maker or ISP page puts a PLDT Home modem at 10.0.0.1. Its sign-in details are on the modem’s label, and the gateway line on your phone shows the address it really uses.

10.0.0.0.1 and other typo forms

An IPv4 address is four numbers joined by three dots, so a typo form such as 10.0.0.0.1, with five numbers, makes the browser run a web search instead. The same happens with:

  • 10.0 0.1 (a space where a dot belongs)
  • 10.o.o.1 (the letter o in place of zero)
  • https://10.10.0.0.1 and 10001
  • www.10.0.0.1

10.0.0.1 itself is a valid private address. RFC 1918 reserves 10.0.0.0 to 10.255.255.255 for private networks, so it only answers from inside the home network that owns it.

10.0.0.1 login not working

The page does not load on an XB6 or newer

Admin Tool access is probably off. Allow it in the Xfinity app under WiFi, View WiFi equipment, Advanced settings, and make sure you are on your home network.

Nothing loads on public Wi-Fi or mobile data

The xfinitywifi hotspot and mobile data cannot reach your gateway. Join your home Wi-Fi or use an Ethernet cable.

The pair admin and password is refused

It is not a current Xfinity default. Use the password made in the app, or the sticker password if access was allowed before February 2026.

No switch next to Bridge Mode

A fault owners reported in early 2026. Unplug the gateway for 30 seconds, then follow the Bridge Mode note above if it stays missing.

None of these fit

Your router is probably not on 10.0.0.1. Read the gateway line on your phone or run ipconfig, and open that address.

A stuck browser cache or a VPN can also block the page; those causes are covered under when a router admin page refuses to load.

Conclusion

Xfinity and Rogers gateways answer at 10.0.0.1 with the username admin. The password comes from the Xfinity app or from the label, depending on the model and on when access was allowed. Everyone else should check the gateway line and pick the right page from the full list of router IP addresses.

Frequently asked questions

What is 10.0.0.1?

10.0.0.1 is a private address that Xfinity and Rogers cable gateways keep for their own settings page. It only answers from a phone or computer inside that home network, never from the internet.

What is the password for 10.0.0.1?

No single password fits. Newer Xfinity gateways take the password you set in the Xfinity app, while XB2, XB3 and Rogers units start with the code on their label. The admin and password pair found on many sites is not a current Xfinity default.

How do I change the 10.0.0.1 password?

First decide which password you mean. The admin password on a Rogers gateway changes under Troubleshooting, then Change Password; on a newer Xfinity unit it is the one set when you allow access in the app. The Wi-Fi key changes at 10.0.0.1 only on an XB2 or XB3, and in the Xfinity app on newer models.

Where is port forwarding on an Xfinity gateway?

In the Xfinity app, under WiFi, View WiFi equipment, Advanced Settings, then Port forwarding. Xfinity's help gives only this app path, and the device must use IPv4 and get its address by DHCP. Rogers uses the same path in the Rogers Xfinity app.

How do I know which Xfinity gateway I have?

Read the model number on the bottom panel, or check the Devices page of your Xfinity account or the Xfinity app. CGM4981COM is an XB8, CGM4331COM or TG4482A an XB7, and TG3482G or CGM4140COM an XB6.

Is 10.0.0.1 a private IP address?

Yes, 10.0.0.1 is private. RFC 1918 sets aside the whole 10.0.0.0 to 10.255.255.255 block for private networks, so no one outside your home can reach it.
